TERMINOLOGY

The following shows only the terms concerning fire resistance, terms referring to flat glass have deliberately been omitted.
E, EI, EW

Symbols are related to a period of time expressed in minutes (30-60-90-120) and define the level of fire resistance.
E: Criterion of protection from flames and hot smoke.
I: Criterion of heat insulation during a fire on the protected side (<140°C average: <180°C in certain areas).
W: Optional criterion for restricting the transfer of maximum radiant heat (15W/m² over a distance of 1 metre)

Firewall
The term used for products which meet fire containment criteria (RE-E) without heat insulation properties (I).

PYROBEL
Fire resistant product which complies with the fire resistance regulation in accordance with the different classes: EI/EW 20–30-45-60-90-120
Used for a range of applications.
PYROBELITE
Firewall product which complies with the regulations in force in different classes: EI 20 - EW 30
Used for a range of applications.
PYROPANE
Toughened firewall product which complies with the regulations in force in accordance with different classes: E/EW 30 - 60
RE, REI, REW
These are the old symbols which refer to a period of time expressed in minutes (30-60-90-120) and define the fire resistance class.
RE: Criterion of mechanical containment of flames and hot smoke.
I: Criterion of heat insulation during the fire on the protected side (<140°C average: <180°C in certain areas).
W: Optional criterion for restricting the transfer of maximum radiant heat (15W/m² over a distance of 1 metre).
Fire resistance
A term used to indicate products which meet the REI-EI fire resistance criteria and correspond to specific reference standards with all the fire containment and heat insulation requirements.
Vision Line
A system of fireproof structural glazing walls in side by side modules with no intermediate mountings. It allows to create very large surfaces with no intermediate elements between the individual glass modules.
This system has already been certified by European standards with a class of up to 120 minutes and with multiple support frames: wood, aluminium and steel.
